Aug 22, 2004

A whole month where I practically haven't touched Vue d'Esprit nor updated my website!.. Why?
Because High School has begun and is taking A LOT of my time these days!... beginning on a new school, meeting hundreds of new people, making new friends, studying, etc.! I certainly have enough things to do these days! :)

That's the reason for the lack of new images and updates.

But I did though, find the time this weekend to make a new render. My big brother has been to Kenya for almost 2 months now, and is coming home this Thursday, so I decided on an African theme.
Bocos is now up in the Tropical Gallery.

I hope you like it! :)

Jul 16, 2004

I got an idea when working on Tidan, so as soon as I finished it I began on Oupos. You can sort of call it..hmm.. static animation?!?

It's a brand new concept, and quite different from what I usually make, so if you could send me some feedback and tell me what you think, I would really apprecaite it!

Thanks :)

Jul 14, 2004

I've just come home from a great week of canoeing in Sweden with a friend. You really can't spend much time in the forests up there without getting inspired!

I've tried to recreate one of the several great views we had on the river Tidan at sundown, but it really doesn't do it justice.

still... I hope you like it! :)

Jun 30, 2004

Finally! A new image!... Loch can be found in the Northen Gallery. This is just a simple one, so I could get back on track.

I hope you enjoy it! :)

I've also experimented with a new "header" (but only on the mainpage!) I think I'll go back to the "Araguaia-header" sooner or later, but for now, it's nice with some change :)

Jun 28, 2004

I guess it's time for an update soon?! Sorry I've been away for so long, but I've been taking a long needed break from Vue these last few weeks.

School's over so I've got time for rendering once again. I'm working on something new that (hopefully) should be up before too long :)

May 15, 2004

A huge update to the site today...
Jemaya is finally finished. Like Marina Domo and Edjua, this picture is a simple scene with the sky being a major element of it.
It can be found in the Tropical Gallery.

It's created to indicate a new tutorial and an update in the downloads-section. The first since it got up :)

The tutorial is about how to use photos for skies in Vue d'Esprit.

I've uploaded 6 hi-res photos to the 3D-models-section, where you can get them for free. These include the skies used in Jemaya, Marina Domo and San Lucre.

Enjoy them! :)

May 12, 2004

Working on something new... the progress is slow, but I've got an idea that I think might be quite interesting. Just to let you know...

Apr 29, 2004

A new one for the Tropical Gallery. Marina Domo is like Edjua a picture where I was striving for a mood as strong as possible. Marina is though, a little more complicated.

Take a close look at it, because there are many details in there!

Apr 11, 2004

From Edjua that wasn't very complicated to create, to one of the scenes that probably caused me the most trouble ever!

San Lucre was a mess to get finished. It all started great, but as it got more detailed, all sorts of problems showed up. Especially the lighting was tough, but I've ended up feeling quite good about it.

I hope you enjoy it! :)

Apr 1, 2004

New image ready... Edjua is a little different from what I usually make.

Simplicity was what I was aiming for with this one. I tried to create a mood as strong as possible. I hope you like it! :)

Mar 24, 2004

I've dedicated these last few days to creating a new tutorial.
"The Making of Ventura" is a detailed explanation of how I created Ventura.

If you have any comments to it, or would like some questions answered, please drop me a line. :)

Mar 20, 2004

I've been taking a break from Vue d'Esprit these last few weeks. I needed to recharge my artistic batteries.

My new image, Ventura, is now up in the Tropical Gallery.
I hope you like it!

Feb 26, 2004

I'm now finished with a major project in school... what a relief! :)

It took a lot of my time so I haven't had to much time to work in Vue. As soon as I was finished however, I started working on Luma.

I got inspired by some incredible images made in the program Cinema4D, and wanted to see if I could achieve the same feeling and lighting in Vue.

Feb 17, 2004

Back again after an incredible 7 days on ski! If I had the skill to make a good-looking mountain in Vue, I'd have inspiration for the next few years! :) Austria is incredible!

I started working on something new as soon as I got home, and Potamia is now up, this time for the Moody Gallery!
I've also created an alternate beach-version if you're interested.

Feb 7, 2004

I'm going to Austria for skiing in excactly 3 hours :)
I've been working on this one for a few days, and I really wanted to get it finished before I leave.

All the plants in Taxus Garden are Xfrog. The new models are outstanding, and has given me the opportunity to realize many of my older ideas.

I hope you like it!... and try and see if you can find all the animals... ;)

Jan 27, 2004

I'm in a creative mood these days. Immediately after finishing Stenmur I started working on Shinguon.

It's a bit inspired by my own image Sorsele, but it's got another feeling to it.

All plants are from Xfrog. They've just updated some of their libraries, and they're are truly amazing!

Enjoy!

Jan 25, 2004

I submitted Sondrup to the Vue-contest at Renderosity about a month ago. The theme was "A Beautiful Snowlandscape".

Today, the winners were announced, and I got a great
4th place :)
I am therefore also allowed to post the image on my own website so here it is!

Sondrup can be found in the Northern Gallery.

Jan 19, 2004

Yet another pic for the Northern Gallery. This one, Stenmur, took me a long time to get right, and it went through an incredible number of different stages.

I hope you like it!

I've also got another one ready to show in the next couple of days.

Jan 8, 2004

I've added a new tutorial. This one is showing the making of Quebec, from idea to finished image.

Go and have a look! :)

Jan 7, 2004

Happy new year!

I've had a lot of time to play with Vue, because of the holiday. I've created some images that I unfortunately can't show here yet, because of some complications.

Yesterday I got inspired by a photography from the book Earth, and started working. It came together quite easily, and I think I came close enough to the photo. Quebec can be found in the Norhtern Gallery.

Enjoy

Dec 16, 2003

Snowland is up! My second winter-picture ever, and my first picture where it's snowing. It took a few tries to get right, but I'm quite happy with the result.

I hope you like it...

Dec 14, 2003

I've been working on a new project for quite some time now, but once again, I've been busy with concerts and rehearsals.

Also I've been struck by the flue and a soar throat. I'm working on a new image, but I guess I'll have to take a brake for a few days...

Dec 6, 2003

Finally the day arrived... My birthday! :)
It's going to be a busy day with rehearsals with the orchestra from 9:30 to 12:30. Then a concert from a church-tower at 16:00 and last, but not least : A big party with the orchestra the entire evening/night.
Sigh... :)
The "About me-section" is also updated to my correct age ;)

Also, Mogura 2003 is up in the Tropical Gallery. I've had troubles finding inspiration and time to make a new picture. Luckily, my annual ritual of posting a new picture on my birthday, (last year it was Mantra), forced me to start working on something. I decided on reworking a very old picture "Rauros" (which can't be found on thomaskrahn.com but in my gallery at Renderosity), and try out some new XFrog-vegetation and waterfall-techniques.

I've also uploaded a 1024*768 version of the Mogura 2003, if someone should be interested in using it as a wallpaper. If you'd like me to add a desktop-version of some future-images, please drop me a line.

Enjoy! :)

  Nov 29, 2003

I'm having problems with people stealing my images to their own website without my permission! This really sucks! They're violating copyrights and are stealing my bandwith!
They're all going for the image "Arise", and are using quite a lot of my traffic. Luckily, almost everybody are friendly and willing to cooperate.

Also, sorry for the lack of updates lately, but I've been really busy with school and my music. I've just come home from a trip to Copenhagen with my class. It's been 3 rough, but fantastic days, and I'm now ready to start on a new project. Hopefully, I'll have something ready for next Saturday, when it's my birthday (!) and I turn 16 ;)

  Nov 11, 2003

I recieved a few mails concerning the quality of the DOF in Cay Sal. I've been tinkering around with it the last few days, and have finally achieved a higher quality.

I've also uploaded a 1024 x 1536 version which can be found here.

Nov 8, 2003   Got struck with creativity and finished what I started yesterday (check post from earlier today). The result, Cay Sal, can be found in the Tropical Gallery.

- I'm working on something new again. I haven't been able to make anything the last few days, but it seems I finally got going with a new project!
Nov 2, 2003

Finally a new picture for the Miscellaneous Gallery. I created it about a month ago for the october-challenge at Renderosity : "Out of Vue".
It's quite different from my usual stuff, but as was the theme of this month. And I like it just the same...

I hope you like it!

Oct 20, 2003
Finally got around finishing the 3Dmodels-section. I'll add new models from time to time. Check it out!

Oct 19, 2003

I've been busy with school and my music these last few days. I've just come home from 5 fantastic days in Germany with my orchestra, and is now ready to post again.

I recieved my copy of Vue 4 Professional a few days ago, and I must admit that I really like it. Besides having many great new features and many great samplescenes it also comes with several wonderful new models.

Sorsele is my first picture created with Vue Pro. The stag and those great pines are all models that came with Vue Pro.

Also... the 3Dmodels-section will be up shortly.
Thanks for your patience
.

  Oct 6, 2003

Made a small number of updates. Mainly in the layout, but also in the links-section.

  Oct 5, 2003   Welcome!

The opening of my own website! I've been planning to create it for a very long time, but not until now has anything been done. I've been mingling around with the design and layout for quite some time now and I'm quite satisfied with the result :)

If you find any "broken links" or other errors, please send me an e-mail and I will correct them asap.

There may still be some minor changes to be made, but hopefully not too many.
To mark the opening of the site, I've created a brand new image, Fallen, which can be found in the Moody Gallery.

Enjoy!
