INTRO The Making of Chinahouse is a good example of how I make architectural imagery in Vue. I had originally planned "Villaggio" to be the image to show, but it turned out that "Chinahouse" was much better for the purpose...

THE BEGINNING I started by creating this simple model. It helped me establish the PoV* and tune the composition. Nothing fancy... just the basic shapes.

ADDING MORE DETAIL Then I went on by adding more details. Windows, pots, handles, lamps, drainpipes, etc. I like starting with no textures, but when I've already textured the model the way I want it to be (like the bike) I will of course keep the textures when I import it... |

LIGHTING I took a different path with Chinahouse and did most of the lighting work before creating the textures. I don't know why - it's by far not the best way of doing lighting... It did, though, turn out to work quite well. |

TEXTURES I really wanted the textures to look real so all the photos I've used were very high-quality. They consist of several layers and I put a lot of work into making them look real and dirty. |

ADDING THE VEGETATION One of the last things to do was to add the vegetation. Most of them are created by myself and a few are from the internet. I also added some roughness to the walls and added the wires in the background. |

FINISHED! The scene
is now finished.
